The rules for using the MSSG website, membership applications and payments. Last updated 11 October 2026.
These Terms of Use apply to www.mssg-ghana.org (“the website”), run by the Medical Scientists Society of Ghana (“MSSG”, “the Society”, “we”). By using the website, creating an account or applying for membership, you agree to these terms.
Membership of the Society is also governed by MSSG's Rules and Regulations. If these terms and the Rules and Regulations ever conflict on a membership matter, the Rules and Regulations apply.
Membership is open to people who hold, or are studying for, a degree in Biochemistry or the Biological Sciences, as described on our About page. When you apply:

Members also pay annual dues, shown on the member dashboard. The Society may change fees and dues, and will tell members before a change takes effect.
Payments are processed securely by Paystack (Mobile Money and cards). MSSG never sees your card details or Mobile Money PIN.
Refunds: registration fees cover the cost of reviewing your application and are generally not refundable once the application has been reviewed. If your application is declined, or you were charged twice or by mistake, email info@mssg-ghana.org with your payment reference within 30 days and we will review your request. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Annual dues are not refundable for a membership year that has already started.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and report serious misuse to the relevant authorities.
The MSSG name, logo and the content of this website belong to the Society unless stated otherwise. You may view, download and share it for personal, educational or non-commercial use, as long as you credit MSSG. You may not use the MSSG name or logo in a way that suggests the Society endorses you, a product or an organisation without our written permission.
If you submit content to us, such as a profile photo, bio or article, you keep ownership of it but allow MSSG to display it on the website and in Society communications.
We work to keep the website accurate and up to date, but event dates, venues and other details can change. Please confirm important details with the Society before relying on them.
Scientific and professional material on the website is for general information and education. It is not medical advice and does not replace the judgement of a qualified professional.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. MSSG is not responsible for the content or practices of those websites.
We aim to keep the website available at all times but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of the website, for example for maintenance.
As far as the law allows, MSSG is not liable for any indirect loss, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Ghanaian law that cannot be excluded.
How we collect and use your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing info@mssg-ghana.org. Closing your account does not refund fees or dues already paid. Some records, such as payment records, are kept for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. If we make significant changes, we will let members know by email or on the dashboard. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction.
